Help us fight back against breast cancer with the dentist Columbia residents turn to for excellent dental treatment – Dr. Beck.
Breast Cancer Affects Many Different Lives
According to the latest statistics, roughly 1 in 8 U.S. women will develop invasive breast cancer during her lifetime. Sadly, some 40,290 U.S. women will die from breast cancer in 2015. Though death rates have been consecutively dropping since 1989, it’s still very important to keep awareness high. Thanks to major advancements in treatment, early detection via screening and increased awareness, these numbers have been declining. This is why Breast Cancer Awareness Month is so important because it helps raise money and keep awareness at an all-time high.
For those that are unaware, National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM) is powerful partnership comprised of several national organizations, professional medical associations and a handful of government departments. They form the perfect team that helps promote the disease, shares valuable information and gives greater access to much-needed services. Countless volunteers and individuals have heeded the call and brought breast cancer awareness to the national stage. Many people have heard of breast cancer, but they’re unaware of the steps that must be taken in order to detect the disease at its earliest stages.
